Guidelines


Submissions:
While the format and the medium of the project are open to interpretation and creative will, please provide the following standard elements to facilitate evaluation and exhibition.

Please note: the submission process is two-fold. Some materials must be submitted online; others must be mailed. Full instructions detailing where and how to upload materials online will be emailed to you during the month of February.

Materials to be uploaded online:
  1. A written abstract, which should describe your general thought process and the vision preceding project realization (400 words maximum).
  2. 3-5 pages of concept sketches and idea progression, scanned from the provided Moleskine notebook. Each page scanned should be in .jpg format, low-res (72 dpi), max height 800 px / max width 1200 px, and no larger than 10 MB.
  3. The visual representation of your project in realized form. Please upload up to 5 files in any combination of the following file formats: .mpg4, .mov, .mp3, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .swf, or submit URL(s). Do not submit the same exact project image in multiple formats. Maximum file size per file is 20 MB.
Deadline:
March 3, 2008, 11:59 p.m. EST.

Materials to be mailed:
Please mail your project sketchbook to the address below. Sketchbooks will not be returned to you; they will be donated to the lettera27 archive, and may be included in subsequent exhibitions by lettera27.

Schedule:
Judging: March 2008.
Announcement of 27 finalists and virtual exhibition launch: April 3, 2008.
Online commentary/discussion open to judges and the general public: April 2008.
Publication of limited edition Moleskine book: September 2008.
