Matteo Bologna
is originally from Milan but has lived in New York since 1994. He is currently the president of Mucca Design, a New York based branding company. He is also a Director at Large of the Type Directors Club and a proud father to two little girls and a dinosaur.

Steven Guarnaccia
is the chair of the Illustration Department at Parsons The New School for Design. He was previously art director of the Op-Ed page of the New York Times. During his 25- year career as an internationally recognized illustrator he has illustrated for major magazines, including Time, the New York Times Magazine and Rolling Stone, and has created artwork for clients including Disney Cruise Lines and the Museum of Modern Art. He is the author and illustrator of numerous children’s books, and the co-author of Black and White, a book on the absence of color, published by Chronicle Books.

Paul Lavoie
is the chairman and chief creative officer of TAXI, a branding, advertising and design agency he co-founded in 1992 with partner Jane Hope. A short film written and directed by Paul won best Short under five minutes at The International Festival of Cinema and Technology in New York in 2003. He sits on the boards of Covenant House Toronto, the Virginia Commonwealth University and the New York Art Directors Club.

Erin McKean
was the editor in chief of The New Oxford American Dictionary, 2e, and consults on American Dictionaries for Oxford University Press. She is also the editor of Verbatim: The Language Quarterly and the author of Weird and Wonderful Words, More Weird and Wonderful Words, Totally Weird and Wonderful Words, and That’s Amore. She writes about dresses at her blog, A Dress A Day, and about lexicography at Dictionary Evangelist, and lives in Chicago with her husband and son.

Simon Njami
is an independent lecturer, art critic, novelist and essayist. He is also a consultant in visual arts for the Association Française d'Action Artistique and co-founder and editor-in-chief of Revue Noire. His publications include essays in the catalogue for the Sydney Biennale and other exhibition catalogues. Njami has been the artistic director of the Bamako photography biennale since 2001, and was curator of the first African pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007. He has curated numerous exhibitions of African art and photography, including Africa Remix, and is the curator for the first African Art Fair, held in Johannesburg in March, 2008.

Christian Schwartz
is principal of Schwartzco Inc., a New York-based type consultation and design firm. Schwartz has released commercial fonts with many respected foundries, and has designed proprietary typefaces for corporations and publications worldwide, frequently in collaboration with British design luminary Paul Barnes or design icon Erik Spiekermann. In 2007, Schwartz was awarded the prestigious Prix Charles Peignot by the Association Typographique Internationale.
